PD30 Radioactive Seed Localization And Radio-Guided Occult Lesion Localization For Non-Palpable Breast Cancer Surgery: A Meta-Analysis

چکیده

Introduction Non-palpable breast cancers require intraoperative localization to guide the surgical procedure. The radio-guided occult lesion (ROLL) and radioactive seed (RSL) techniques use material (technetium-99m labeled macroaggregated albumin iodine-125 seeds, respectively) implanted at site. success of conservative surgery depends on complete tumor excision with negative margins. objective this study was perform a meta-analysis effectiveness ROLL RSL respect rates positive margins, reoperation, recurrence. Methods A systematic search PubMed, Embase, LILACS, SciELO, Web Science databases performed 2 August 2021. standard form used extract data from studies selected in screening process. ROBINS-I tool analyze risk bias RevMan 5.4 software meta-analysis. Results Four observational met inclusion criteria. overall evidence quality moderate. included women aged 28 91 years non-palpable cancer. results demonstrated similar between for margins (risk ratio [RR] 0.83, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.50, 1.39; 763 patients) reoperation (RR 1.14, CI: 0.75, 1.74; 1,550 patients). Regarding rate disease recurrence, superior 0.29, 0.87; 939 Conclusions demonstrate that are equivalent although patients undergoing had lower However, there is tendency favor technique because longer implantation surgery, which possible due half-life (59.4 days). This also means can occur before neoadjuvant chemotherapy, so bed remains marked if further interventions required, obviating need another invasive procedure surgery.

Assessment of Ultrasound / Radio-guided Occult Lesion Localization in Non-palpable Breast Lesions

Objective(s): Controversy exists about the localization of non-palpable breast lesions. In many countries, the gold standard for the diagnosis of these lesions is needle localization due to its accuracy. This study sought to compare the ultrasoundand radio-guided occult lesion localization (ROLL) as a simple method with the conventional procedures in terms of their diagnostic power. Methods: Th...

Radioactive seed localization for non-palpable breast cancer.

BACKGROUND Radioactive seed localization (RSL) is an alternative to wire localization for guiding surgical excision of non-palpable breast cancer. This review provides an overview of the available evidence on the accuracy of RSL in patients undergoing breast-conserving surgery. METHODS PubMed, Embase and the Cochrane Library were searched systematically in January 2012 for studies that addres...

Radioguided occult lesion localization versus wire-guided localization for non-palpable breast lesions: randomized controlled trial

AIM This prospective randomized clinical study was conducted to compare radioguided occult lesion localization (ROLL) with wire-guided localization to evaluate optimum localization techniques for non-palpable breast lesions. METHODS A total of 108 patients who were undergoing an excisional biopsy for non-palpable breast lesions requiring pathologic diagnosis were randomly assigned to the ROLL...

assessment of radio-guided occult lesion localization associated with sonography in nonpalpable breast lesions

conclusions radio-guided localization of non-palpable breast lesions is an acceptable method because of technical facilitation, accurate localization and complete excision with limited complications. so it can be recommended as an alternative method for wire-guided localization. results pathologic results were benign in 90.5% and malignant in 9.5% of patients. post-operative margin of lesion wa...
